Wintery weather has arrived in TuscaloosaÂ and with it that magical holiday spirit. We have an exciting list of events going on including the classic Christmas Carol presented by Theatre Tuscaloosa and Super 7 state football championships.Â While you’re out at these fun events, take a stroll down the tinsel trail by the Black Warrior River and check out the ice skating rink. It’s the first Thursday of the month, and that means Art Night at Kentuck! Come out from 5-8pm and experience the last Art Night of 2017. This month will feature the Kentuck Studio Artists exhibit ‘Artisanal Quality’ and live music by Charlie Wilson, so don’t miss the best local art and culture the community has to offer.
The Super 7 state football championships are in full swing, and Friday will feature three games including the 2A, 4A, and 6A state titles in Bryant-Denny Stadium. The 6A game between Wetumpka and Pinson Valley will kick off at 7:00 and be perfect playoff football weather! Tickets are $15 and will get you in to all three games on Friday if you are a mega football fan.
The Children’s Hands-On Museum will be hosting Santa Mouse Day this Saturday from 10-4! Kids of all ages will have a blast listening to a storytime reading of the beloved children’s book Santa Mouse and making a Santa Mouse ornament. Get into the holiday spirit at the Children’s Hands-On Museum!
Back by popular demand, Theatre Tuscaloosa is reviving Romulus Linneyâ€™s stage adaptation of Charles Dickensâ€™ A Christmas Carol. In this traditional tale, four mysterious spirits visit Ebenezer Scrooge to help him find the true meaning of Christmas. It is a show for both young and old and a great way to get the whole family into the holiday spirit. This play will be held at the Bean-Brown Theatre at Shelton State Community College at 7:00 p.m. Friday-Sunday, so you have plenty of opportunities to go.
