Tuskaloosa Oktoberfest
The Tuskaloosa Oktoberfest is here!! 🇩🇪 On October 6, from noon-6 p.m., there will be a fun-filled food and beer festival to celebrate German culture. With German beer, German food, activities, local artists and live music there is fun for everyone! This event is hosted by Tuscaloosa County Parks & Recreation Authority and 3o1 Bistro, and will be located in Central Downtown. A Dachshund Dash will be one of the main events, starting at 2:00 p.m., where Dachshunds and Dachshund mixes will race to the finish line. The top two winners will receive a prize! Register online now, or you can register your pup at the event. There will also be a separate dog costume contest. These events are free with the purchase of a general admission ticket!
Participants can also compete in the Stein Hoist Competition. This will require a unique combination of skill, endurance and beer! The competition begins at 3:30 p.m., and only requires a general admission ticket. To start practicing, check out this instructional video.
Music at the event will include live performances from Oompah-Calypse and The Blue Cat Band. Oompah-Calypse is an original Oktoberfest band, and The Blue Cat Band performs a mix of blues and rock.
100 percent of ticket sales benefit the Tuscaloosa All-Inclusive Playground Project. Their mission is to build an accessible, inclusive playground in Tuscaloosa for children and families of all ages and abilities. This playground intends to promote social and physical health to aid in child development, as well as being a location for diverse groups of children and adults to create connections.
