A-Day 🐘 🏈

Alabama’s annual spring football game is here! The Crimson Tide and their fans will be back in Bryant-Denny Stadium this Saturday. Food vendors, giveaways, live radio remotes, and vehicle displays will start at 9:00 a.m. on the Walk of Champions Plaza. Gates to the stadium open at 10:00 a.m., and the alumni flag football game will begin at 10:30 a.m. There will be a Walk of Fame at 11:15 a.m., with the Walk of Champions at 11:50 a.m. The official A-Day spring game starts at 1:00 p.m. The first 10,000 attendees will receive a free A-Day poster. Tuscaloosa Bark in the Park 🐶 🌳

Bring your furry companion and enjoy a fun day in the park! This annual fundraising event, hosted by the Tuscaloosa Association of Realtors, will benefit the Will May Dog Park. On Saturday, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. the park will feature live music, a K-9 dog demo, food trucks, a dog wash, a children’s area, and dogs available for adoption! The first 500 people will receive a swag bag. All proceeds from Bark in the Park go to help maintain and improve the Will May Dog Park. Learn more about this event here.

Beans & Brews 🍻

If you’re looking for something to do after the A-Day game, head over to Loosa Brews! They will have a block party in the street between Loosa Brews and Uperk after the game. Admission is free. Almost, Maine 🎭

Shelton State’s Theatre Tuscaloosa presents, Almost Maine, a play that examines the joy and pain of falling into and out of love. It features nine vignettes about couples in the imaginary town of Almost, Maine. Showtime begins at 7:30 p.m., starting Thursday night and continuing throughout the weekend at the Bean Brown Theatre. Read and Romp 📚

Saturday, there will be an exciting FREE family literacy event at Government Plaza in Downtown Tuscaloosa! From 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. children from ages three to five and their families can engage in fun, learning-based activities themed around classic children’s books. Kids will be able to leave the event with goodies they create at various activity stations as well as free books! Families can also enjoy face painting, character visits, and free beverages provided by Buffalo Rock Pepsi.

Shrek the Musical Jr. 🎭

This weekend, the Tuscaloosa Children’s Theatre is presenting their spring production of “Shrek, the Musical Jr,” this weekend at the historic Bama Theatre. Showings begin Friday night at 7:00 p.m., continuing throughout the weekend into Sunday. Ticket prices will be $20 for premium seats, $15 for adults and $10 for students. They can be purchased at the box office or online here.

Saturday’s 2:00 p.m. matinee will be sensory friendly! For this performance, tickets will be half price. This show will attempt to make the theatre experience accessible to children and adults that normally may not be able to attend regular performances due to sensitivities. There will be introductions before sudden and loud noises to make the audience aware, a sensory station with pillows and devices to soothe attendees if needed, and there will be sensory bags with headphones and manipulatives available.

Roots Fest🎶

This is a FREE music festival that brings together world class music and some of the best food in the south. It takes place at Government Plaza on April 27.
