Now Accepting Applications for the Anchor Tuscaloosa Pilot Program!
Anchor Tuscaloosa exists to engage the next generation of young adults and college students with an interest in growing professionally and learning more about life in Tuscaloosa County. Applications will be accepted October 21 – December 1, 2024. Enjoy all activities and sessions at no cost!
Anchor Tuscaloosa is an enrichment opportunity for undergraduate and graduates students at Shelton State Community College, Stillman College, and The University of Alabama. During the 2025 spring semester, up to 40 students will enjoy five sessions where they’ll network, serve, connect, and grow as they also learn what it’s like to live and work in Tuscaloosa Co.
Want to Apply? Information to Consider:
1. Students must have completed 30+ credit hours prior to December 31, 2024.
2. Participants must attend at least four of the five sessions. Anchor Tuscaloosa will provide documentation for classes missed.
3. Partners: FuelAL, Tuscaloosa Co. Economic Development Authority, Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama, and Visit Tuscaloosa.
Important Dates! Students must be willing to commit to attending at least four of the five sessions.
Session #1: January 17 – 18, 2025 (5 pm – 3 pm)
Session #2: February 5, 2025 (8 am – 7 pm – will be in Montgomery, AL)
Session #3: February 24, 2025 (9 am – 3 pm)
Session #4: March 20, 2025 (9 am – 3 pm)
Session #5: April 5, 2025 (9 am – 5 pm)
