The first month of the New Year always seems slow, but things are picking up full speed in Tuscaloosa! There are so many new events happening around town, but here are some of our favorites to make your first February weekend fantastic! 

Art is Everywhere! 

Have you been missing museum life? Kentuck Art Night and the First Friday Art Walk are both this weekend! One great exhibit to check out is at the Paul R. Jones Museum is hosting the “Talking to the Ancestors” exhibition by folk artist Charlie Lucas. Lucas is the last in a long lineage of black folk artists in Alabama that began over 100 years ago. The Paul R. Jones Museum is a perfect stop on your weekend itinerary to view an educational gallery that supports our state! The exhibit is open until Feb. 15th and is limited to 10 guests at a time. Virtual Tuscaloosa Heritage Festival

Celebrating the legacy of Tuscaloosa has never been easier, thanks to this new virtual opportunity! The Tuscaloosa Civil Rights History and Reconciliation Foundation collaborates with the West Alabama Multicultural Alliance to host an online fundraiser for the Tuscaloosa Civil Rights Museum. The virtual Heritage Festival will be held on Feb. 5-6 through Facebook. For more about the Heritage Festival and its needs, you can visit the West Alabama Multicultural Alliance’s website

Super Bowl Watch Party

Just because the college football season is over doesn’t mean the fun stops in Tuscaloosa! The Lookout Rooftop Bar is hosting a fun-filled night in celebration of Superbowl LV. Head over Sunday night, Feb. 7th, for an all-night happy hour and food specials while cheering for your favorite team! Just a reminder that the Lookout Rooftop Bar is a smoke-free, pet-friendly, and social distancing abiding facility!
