There’s no rain in this weekend’s forecast which means bring on the events! We have a pretty busy weekend planned for you to make the most out of your days before the Monday blues hit. Here are some fun-filled events going on this weekend that will be sure to give you Spring fever!
International World Art Day
The Intercultural Diversity Center will be hosting a DIY activity in observance of World Art Day this Thursday, April 15th from 11 am to 1 pm in the Intercultural Diversity Center (Ferguson 2100 on UA’s campus). Guests will learn about artistic creations in society, awareness of the diversity of artistic expressions, and highlight the contribution of artists within society. Participants will be provided paint kits, catered refreshments, accompanied by a presentation on the international holiday!
Miss Icon 2021
Tuscaloosa’s own Icon Tuscaloosa is hosting its annual Miss Icon Pageant this Thursday, April 15th, at 9 pm. Contestants will compete in three categories: Icon Presentation, Evening Gown, and Solo Talent. There is no entry fee for contestants and the Winner receives $300 cash that night and $200 cash at Give Up! Admission is $10 for those who want to attend!
Go Green or Go Home at CHOM
Get a jump start on the Earth Day festivities this Saturday, April 17th, from 9:30 am to 4 pm at the Children’s Hands-On Museum. Come play recycling games, learn about seed bombs, and oil spill clean-up efforts! All activities are included in admission, so bring your best buddies!
Hand in Paws Virtual Mutt Strut
Hand in Paw is excited to announce its 11th Annual Mutt Strut: Dog-Friendly 5k and 1 Mile Fun Run will take place virtually on April 17th! Grab your furry quaranteammate and join Hand in Paw virtually for a fun and safe day full of exciting race routes, contests, and more – all while supporting a great cause. Each registered runner will still receive a swag bag full of goodies, a race day t-shirt, and a doggie bandana. VIRTUAL RACE DAY: April 17, 2021 |5k: $30 | 1 mile fun run: $25.
