On Saturday, May 16, 2026, Dylan Taylor (Alabama Extension) will take Moundville Archaeological Park visitors on a guided hike focused on identifying invasive plants at Moundville.
We’ll cover common species you’re likely seeing right now, including Callery pear, non-native wisteria, and heavenly bamboo (nandina), and talk about their impact on local ecosystems.
Hike Schedule
There will be an Invasive Species Hike from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. and another one from 10:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.

This program is free with paid park admission.

We will meet outside the Jones Archaeological Museum at Moundville Archaeological Park.
Moundville Archaeological Park is located 13 miles south of Tuscaloosa, off Alabama Highway 69 and the physical address is 634 Mound State Parkway, Moundville, AL 35474-6413.
