Events in Tuscaloosa This Weekend
This summer really has flown by! ✈ The last weekend of July is rapidly approaching, and there are still a handful of exciting events going on around the Tuscaloosa area to look forward to. Most events this week take place on Saturday, July 28th.
Screen on the Green 🎥
First and foremost is the weekly “Screen on the Green” free movie series. This Saturday at 8 P.M. the movie “Ferdinand” will be broadcasted on the Green at Midtown Village. This film is rated PG and is one enjoyable for all ages. Get your snacks, blankets, and bring the whole family for an outdoor movie, free of charge.
Blues, Brews, and BBQ 🍻🐷
For adults who are 21 and up you can look forward to Band of Brothers, “Blues, Brews, and BBQ.” This Saturday starting at 4 PM, come by for some BBQ at Band of Brothers Brewing. As the evening continues, enjoy free music starting at 7 PM provided by BJ Miller and the Mac Davis Jr. Blues Band.
Moth Week 🦋
Also, for those science fans out there, you can enjoy “Moth Week” with the Alabama Museum of Natural History. On Saturday, July 28th, come by the Warner Transportation Museum to get a glimpse of the amazing diversity of moths that are found around Tuscaloosa and other parts of Alabama. There will be various activities for all ages as well as food trucks such as Local Roots, La Mexicana, and Grampy’s Food Truck.
Hogwarts Day 🔮
Calling all Harry Potter fans! Last but not least, also going on this Saturday is “Hogwarts Day” at the Children Hands-On Museum. Wear your costume and get to the CHOM between 9 AM and 4 PM to become a wizard for the day. You will get the opportunity to design your own wand, create your own house tie, and much more. You don’t want to miss this awesome opportunity to experience what it’s like to be a wizard at Hogwarts for the day.
