Mark Your Calendar, Y’all

In Tuscaloosa County, the calendar stays full—and the good times roll year-round. From art festivals and football Saturdays to cultural celebrations and holiday magic, this is a place where events don’t just fill the schedule—they bring people together.

Every fall, the Kentuck Festival of the Arts transforms Snow Hinton Park into an open-air gallery of creativity and craftsmanship. In Fall, Oktoberfest brings a 5k run benefiting the American Cancer Society and a German-themed festival featuring food, drinks and family-friendly entertainment to Government Plaza. Druid City Arts Festival brings together artists, food trucks, and live music in downtown Tuscaloosa, while Dickens Downtown turns Northport into a holiday postcard come December. And if you’re here for Bama game weekends, you already know that this town knows how to throw a tailgate.

Explore what’s happening, what’s next, and what you might not want to miss. Chances are, there’s something worth staying for.

Annual Events

Whether focused on the arts, history, or the holidays, these events will keep you coming back year after year.

What We List

Visit Tuscaloosa’s calendar features public, visitor-friendly experiences across Tuscaloosa County—festivals, concerts, spectator sports, tours, seasonal celebrations, and bookable hands-on workshops.  Listings must include full details (date/time, venue, ticket link if needed, organizer contact) and a quality photo.

What We Don’t List

To keep the calendar focused on experiences that either drive visitation or provide visitors with things to do while in town, we generally do not list fundraisers/benefits, routine business promotions (sales, happy hours), primarily instructional classes, private/member-only events, ongoing clubs/meetups, or daily vendor/retail activity without a festival-level experience.

Recurring nightlife (trivia, karaoke, open mic)

We may include select recurring activities as “things to do tonight” if they’re public, consistently scheduled, visitor-friendly (clear info and link), and presented by a visitor-relevant venue or seasonal series. These items are typically not “Featured.” We prioritize unique themes or activities tied to major visitor drivers.

Editorial discretion & timing

Visit Tuscaloosa will review each submission and may edit or decline to maintain quality and visitor relevance. Please submit at least 14 days before the event; review typically takes 3-5 business days. Approval is not guaranteed. Questions?
