The Moundville Native American Festival brings together Native American artists, performers, storytellers, craftspeople and demonstrators for a day of cultural experiences and hands-on learning. This year’s theme, “Year of the Crawfish: Big Changes Start with Small Beings,” explores the importance of crawfish and other small creatures within freshwater ecosystems through storytelling, demonstrations and interactive activities. Children can learn about crawfish habitats, burrows and life cycles while discovering the important role these creatures play in the environment.
Tuscaloosa Oktoberfest + 5k

Kentuck Festival of the Arts

The nationally recognized Kentuck Festival of the Arts returns to Snow Hinton Park for a weekend celebrating creativity, culture, and community. University of Alabama Homecoming

Homecoming in Tuscaloosa is one of the most exciting weekends of the fall season, as the University of Alabama hosts the Texas A&M Aggies. Throughout the week, the community comes together for signature events like the Homecoming Parade, NPHC Step Show and sorority dance competition, while sorority houses transform their facades with elaborate tissue-paper decorations known as pomps. This long-standing tradition brings students together to spend countless hours designing and “poming” a display, which is also used as a float in the parade, in preparation for Homecoming. Downtown joins in with “Paint the Town Red,” as shops and restaurants display crimson and white, creating a festive atmosphere throughout Tuscaloosa. Boo! in the Park

Camp Fear at Lake Lurleen State Park

35th Annual Halloween Fairyland
