The Alabama Museum of Natural History and The University of Alabama Graduate School invite visitors to a free and family-friendly event participants hands-on exploration of subjects being studied by UA’s Graduate Students. This year’s superhero and comic book-themed “Family Day at the Museum” will be held at the Alabama Museum of Natural History on Saturday, February 21, 2026 from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.
This event is a free, open to the public, and all-ages friendly exploration of science and heroism. Costumes are welcome but not required.

“Family Day at the Museum” will be located at the Alabama Museum of Natural History (Smith Hall, The University of Alabama). The street address is 427 Sixth Avenue, Tuscaloosa, AL 35487.
Directions
From Birmingham: Take Interstate 20/59 S to Tuscaloosa exit 73, McFarland Blvd. Head West on McFarland Blvd toward the University of Alabama. Exit right onto University Blvd. Follow University Blvd to Hackberry Lane. Make a right onto Hackberry Lane and turn into the second parking lot on your left behind Smith Hall (yellow brick building).
From Montgomery: Take Hwy 82 W to Tuscaloosa. Exit right onto University Blvd. Follow University Blvd to Hackberry Lane. Make a right onto Hackberry Lane and turn into the second parking lot on your left behind Smith Hall (yellow brick building).

Parking in University of Alabama parking lots is free at the time of the event.
