Winter Gardening Workshop Set for February 21 at UA Arboretum
The University of Alabama Arboretum will host a free Winter Gardening Workshop on Saturday, February 21, 2026, from 10 a.m. to noon at the UA Arboretum Community Garden, 4801 Arboretum Way, Tuscaloosa.
Participants will learn about planting cold-season crops, fruit tree pruning, building and using cold frames, and soil preparation and testing. Whether you’re a seasoned gardener or just getting started, this hands-on workshop offers practical tips and expert guidance to help your winter garden thrive. The workshop will be led by Ann Marie Hewitt and the Tuscaloosa County Master Gardeners.
This free class is designed for adults, though families are welcome.
