The Actor’s Charitable Theatre Presents Mel Brooks’ Young Frankenstein

Tuscaloosa, AL – The Actor’s Charitable Theatre (The ACT) is thrilled (and maybe a little “electrified”) to announce its upcoming production of Mel Brooks’ monstrously funny musical Young Frankenstein, running October 23 through November 2, 2025 at the ACT Theatre, located inside Old Holt High School.
From the comic genius who brought the world The Producers and Blazing Saddles, Mel Brooks’ Young Frankenstein is a side-splitting, tap-dancing, lightning-charged musical adaptation of the beloved film. Audiences will follow Dr. Frederick Frankenstein (“that’s Fronk-en-steen!”) as he inherits his infamous grandfather’s Transylvanian estate and, with the help of Igor, Inga, and the mysterious Frau Blücher (cue the horse whinny!), attempts to bring life to a creature of his very own—with hilarious results.
“In true Mel Brooks fashion, this show takes the classic horror story and flips it on its green, stitched-up head,” said director Melissa Verzino. “Expect outrageous comedy, big Broadway-style numbers, and plenty of surprises that will have audiences laughing until their bolts pop loose.”
