As we all learned when Tom Cruise worked the bar in the 1988 classic “Cocktail,” there’s more to a good mixed drink than well liquor and soda water. When the Tuscaloosa crowd wants a real cocktail, they head to Catch 22. Gallon apothecary jars line the countertops filled with pure Finlandia vodka, each one artfully distilling a different mix of fresh fruits and vegetables. These made-from-scratch infusions are the basis for the endless unique creations the bartenders mix up each night.
