E-Bike Rentals and Guided Food Tours Offer Visitors More Ways to Experience the City
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (October 19, 2026) – Visit Tuscaloosa welcomes visitors to discover downtown in a brand new way this fall with e-bike rentals along the Tuscaloosa Riverwalk and Tasting Tuscaloosa, a guided food tour highlighting locally owned restaurants. From riding along the Black Warrior River and The University of Alabama campus to savoring the city’s culinary scene, the two additions connect visitors with more of the people and places that make up Tuscaloosa.
“Tuscaloosa has so much to offer within and around our downtown, and these new experiences make it
easier for visitors to see more of it during their time here,” said Visit Tuscaloosa President and CEO
Kelsey Rush. “They showcase two different sides of the city, from our outdoor spaces and riverfront to
the businesses and local eateries that contribute to the character of our community.”
Additional details on the two new offerings can be found below.
E-Bike Rentals Along the Tuscaloosa Riverwalk
Visit Tuscaloosa e-bike rentals are now available outside Hotel Indigo Tuscaloosa Downtown, located at 111 Greensboro Ave. The e-bikes and docking stations provide convenient access to the Tuscaloosa Riverwalk, The University of Alabama campus and surrounding areas, giving visitors and residents an easy option for exploration. The program was made possible through the Innovate Alabama Network, a statewide initiative that connects communities with resources supporting local innovation, economic growth and outdoor recreation, which awarded Visit Tuscaloosa’s foundation, Tuscaloosa Sports and Tourism Foundation, grant funds.
“Hotel Indigo is thrilled to partner with Visit Tuscaloosa to bring this fun new offering to our guests and
community,” said Hotel Indigo Tuscaloosa Downtown Director of Sales Taylor Liles. “We have already
received great feedback from visitors and residents who have enjoyed getting out and riding the e-bikes.”
To rent an e-bike, users download the rental app “Boomerang Fleets”, add a credit card and unlock a bike at the Hotel Indigo docking station. Bikes are picked up and returned at the same docking station. Rentals are $15 for the first 90 minutes and $5 for each additional 30 minutes. Riders must be 18 or older.
