The Visit Tuscaloosa Half Marathon is the longest distance running race held in Tuscaloosa each year. Runners get a sampling of the rolling hills along the Black Warrior River, the Tuscaloosa River Walk, portions of the University of Alabama campus, and some quaint downtown neighborhoods.

Each spring, Downtown Northport transforms into the Bunny Trail, featuring giant artist-decorated eggs and festive events. Proceeds benefit the Junior League of Tuscaloosa’s community programs and initiatives.

For more than a decade the West Alabama Food & Wine Festival has brought together our growing culinary community of local chefs, restauranteurs, and food and wine enthusiasts to celebrate a variety of Southern flavors and experiences unique to our region.

Druid City Arts Festival (DCAF) is a free two-day event highlighting local artists and musicians at Government Plaza. Presented by the City of Tuscaloosa, more than 70 artists are showcased throughout the event as well as a full music lineup, kids’ activities and food and drink concessions.

This free, family-friendly Independence Day event presented by the City of Tuscaloosa will include fireworks, kids’ activities, live music by the Tuscaloosa Symphony Orchestra and more!

Join us every Friday in May and June from 6 – 9 pm at Government Plaza for free, live and local music. Live at the Plaza is family (and pet!) friendly, with a Kid Zone available for fun activities. Grab your crew, a picnic blanket and some folding chairs and we’ll see you there.

The Kentuck Festival of the Arts is an annual event that celebrates creativity, culture, and community in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Held at Snow Hinton Park, this nationally recognized festival attracts over 15,000 visitors from across the country for a weekend filled with inspiring art, live entertainment, and hands-on experiences.

Step into a Victorian Christmas wonderland at Dickens Downtown, an outdoor celebration inspired by Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol. Downtown Northport transforms with snow, live music, caroling, and plenty of holiday cheer. Guests are encouraged to dress in their best Dickens-era costumes to fully embrace the festive spirit!

The Annual West Alabama Christmas Parade features floats, walking groups, marching bands, horse groups, and decorated vehicles. The largest Christmas Parade in West Alabama is preceded by a Tree Lighting ceremony on the steps of the Tuscaloosa County Courthouse.

Experience the joy of the season at Holidays on The Plaza, featuring an ice-skating rink and holiday-themed activities. You also can enjoy more than 200 live Christmas trees sponsored and decorated by local businesses, organizations, and individual at the Tinsel Trail, a project of Tuscaloosa’s One Place: A Family Resource Center.
