Description

Located nine miles northwest of Tuscaloosa and Northport, this 1,625-acre park is a scenic retreat set on the banks of Lake Lurleen and offers plenty of recreation and relaxation. Facilities include a modern campground, activity building, picnic areas, play areas, pavilions, a beach and bathhouse, fishing piers, RV storage, boat rentals and boat-launch areas.

The park features more than 23 miles of multi-use trails ranging from easy to moderate in difficulty. The trails hug the shoreline of Lake Lurleen and are open to both hikers and mountain bikers. The park also features a Nature Center, fishing, meeting facilities, paddle boats, swimming and a beach.

Lake Lurleen features 67 newly renovated full-hookup campsites offering 20/30/50-amp electrical service, water and sewer connections, upgraded Wi-Fi, and smooth paved pads for easy setup.  In addition, seven improved tent campsites offer a comfortable option for those who prefer a more traditional camping experience.  Waterfront sites elevate any stay with private deck patios and stairs that lead directly to the water.  Guests also enjoy access to brand new bathhouses and convenient on-site laundry facilities, ensuring a comfortable and relaxing visit.

The main attraction at the park is the 250-acre Lake Lurleen. The lake measures nearly one and a half miles in length, one-half mile wide, and at its deepest is 48 feet. The lake is stocked with largemouth bass, bream, catfish, and crappie so anglers are sure to reel in a nice-sized catch. Boat-launch areas and ample pier and bank fishing are available.
