Southern Roots. Lasting Connections.
An afternoon for moms (Dads can come too!) of incoming University of Alabama freshmen to meet, mingle, and get the inside scoop on life in Tuscaloosa. Think of it as a welcome-to-Tuscaloosa porch party where moms can sip, chat, and get the real “tea” on T-Town from locals and Alabama parents who have been there, done that, and know what.
This is designed to help you meet people, ask questions, and feel a little more comfortable about the next four years, with local insight on topics YOU want to know about.
We want you to leave knowing more than just campus buildings. From favorite local spots and trusted resources to football weekends, housing, and the little things nobody tells you ahead of time, this event is meant to help you navigate Tuscaloosa a little easier — and hopefully make it feel like you already have friends here waiting on you.
Hosted at Carrie Fitts Real Estate at the iconic Dearing-Swaim House, a historic antebellum home in downtown Tuscaloosa, Moms & Mimosas is all about authentic connections, Southern hospitality, and helping you feel at home in T-Town before classes begin.
