The University of Alabama Arboretum will host an Insect Night Walk on Friday, August 28, 2026, inviting the public to discover the fascinating insects that become active after dark.
The free, family-friendly event will take place from 5:30 to 9 p.m. at the UA Arboretum Pavilion, 4801 Arboretum Way, Tuscaloosa. Visitors will have opportunities to meet insect experts, explore insect collections, attend short educational talks and observe insects at black light stations.
Experts from the University of Alabama and the Alabama Cooperative Extension System will be your guides, sharing their knowledge and helping attendees learn more about the small creatures living in Tuscaloosa. Bring a flashlight and wear comfortable walking shoes.
The event is free and no registration is required. All ages and anyone curious about insects are welcome to attend.
